Call for Input on Canada's First National Infrastructure Assessment

The Canadian Infrastructure Council has been charged with delivering Canada’s first-ever National Infrastructure Assessment (NIA) to support long-term infrastructure planning and decision-making across all levels of government and infrastructure owners, operators and investors by bringing together the data, evidence and perspectives from across the country to help identify Canada’s future infrastructure needs and priorities.

Canada’s first NIA will focus on the core public infrastructure that Canadian communities need to support housing over the long term, including water and wastewater, solid waste management, and public transit and active transportation, and the impact of population growth and climate change on these systems. The ultimate goal is to support resilient, thriving communities from coast to coast to coast through strategic, evidence based infrastructure planning and development.

The Canadian Infrastructure Council is seeking your input on a series of questions through the survey at the bottom of this page. The success of the first NIA depends on the active participation of all Canadians. We encourage citizens, businesses, Indigenous communities, academics, industry experts and all levels of government in Canada to share their perspectives, insights and expertise through this survey.

We deeply appreciate your time and expertise in helping to shape a more sustainable and connected future for our communities. Your contributions will inform the development of Canada's first National Infrastructure Assessment. Thank you for your participation and we look forward to reviewing your valuable insights.

If you have any questions or issues with this survey, please contact our Secretariat at cic-cci@infc.gc.ca.
